Coverage spans virtually every area of academic study and offers information dating as far back as 1865. A collection of scholarly electronic journals in a variety of subject areas, including medicine, nursing, public health, health policy, and sports. Provides indexing for over 1,700 current nursing and allied health journals and other publications dating back to 1982, with links to the full text of many articles in other GTL databases. Covers nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. Full text material includes 60 journals plus legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments, and clinical trials. (NOTE: To search for journals at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center library: Go to WorldCat, search for the journal's title, limit type to "Serial Publications", and type YTK into the "Library Code" box on the search screen.) A companion database to CINAHL, Pre-CINAHL is intended to provide current awareness of new journal articles, and includes a rotating file of limited bibliographic information (no subject searching), which are available to researchers only for the time when these articles are being assigned additional indexing. This enables users to gain access to article citations that otherwise would not be available. Once the bibliographic records are complete, they are added to the CINAHL database and removed from Pre-CINAHL. An excellent collection of searchable, full-text nursing journals including the Lippincott Premier Nursing Journals. Select "Your Journals @ Ovid," then click "Open Selected Resources" to access the database. Full text clinical monographs and patient education material (English and Spanish) on U.S. prescription drugs, herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products, and new and investigational drugs. Health Reference Center - Academic (Gale) Indexes over 230,000 articles from journals and reference books in the fields of medicine and health care. Includes many full-text articles. Health & Wellness Resource Center (Gale) Magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and other information on: fitness, pregnancy, medicine, nutrition, diseases, public health, occupational health and safety, alcohol and drug abuse, prescription drugs, herbal remedies, alternative or complementary treatments, and more. Also includes links to diet, cancer, and health assessment sites as well as government databases. Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition (EBSCO) Provides 600 scholarly full-text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Also indexes articles for an additional 850 journals. Full-text news articles from medical and health journals. Select "Medical" from the menu on the left side of the screen. MEDLINE via EBSCO or Index of over 3,500 journals worldwide in all areas of medicine. Includes links to full text articles for some journals. Covers 1965 to present. Covers health administration, including public health and safety, hospitals, finance, personnel management, insurance, population studies, labor relations, and law. Provides access to full-text journals across a wide range of subject areas, including business, education, literature, political science, and psychology.
