To search for New York state news, click the "Publications" link in the green bar at the top of the page, enter "NY" in the "Browse Publications" search box, specify "Match Any Words," and click the "Browse" button. On the next screen, click the box next to the titles of the newspapers you wish to view, then click the "Add" button. Your selected titles will appear in the "Find" box near the top of the page. Click the "Search" button next to this box to search the database for all articles in your selected newspapers.

Researchers can use the database to find news, editorials, letters to the editor, obituaries, birth and marriage announcements, historical photos, stock photos, and advertisements. New York Times - 1995-current provides more recent coverage, with articles available in HTML full-text format. The two databases cannot be searched simultaneously.
